ICSR Research Projects

International Center for Social Research

PLURALISTIC RESEARCH
The International Center for Social Research (ICSR) research projects are set up in line with the pluralistic methods anchored in the ICSR research programme. Our projects are interdisciplinary, involving researchers from across the social sciences. Each of ICSR’s research groups has its own focus but individual researchers from various groups can work together on one project.

MIXED RESEARCH METHODS
Our preference to move away from methodological uniformity has resulted in the setting up of projects that are based explicitly on a mixed-methods approach: such projects build on the expertise of researchers who excel in either quantitative or qualitative research methods, and bring the two strands of research together.

Expertise of ICSR researchers comprises both quantitative techniques (e.g., randomized control trials, survey analysis and impact analysis) and qualitative techniques (built, among others, on interviews, focus group discussions, observation and discourse analysis).
