Recognising contribution
The International Center for Social Research recognises a wide range of contributions to the sociological discipline. Through its awards, ICSR honours outstanding achievements in scholarship, teaching, professional practice and the public understanding of sociology.
Principal distinction
Established in November 2016, the award is presented by the International Center for Social Research to a person who advances and promotes sociological knowledge and practice through outstanding contributions to the discipline, the profession and the ICSR.
Recognition
The award is formally presented during a dedicated ICSR awards ceremony.

Selection process
The nomination process is designed to document the nominee’s contribution clearly and responsibly.
ICSR members submit a candidate and provide the required supporting documentation.
The nominator is responsible for assembling the evidence needed to build the case for the award.
The designated award selection committee examines the nomination and supporting materials.
The committee selects the recipient on the basis of the quality and significance of the contribution.
Nomination requirements
Send an email containing the nominee’s curriculum vitae, the reasons supporting the nomination and the name of the person submitting it.
